About Samvaad
‘Samvaad’ translates to dialogue, discussion, and debate. Taking forward the spirit of this nation, Samvaad is a platform to organise lectures, talks, seminars, and symposia in the GITAM School of Humanities and Social Sciences of Visakhapatnam Campus.
The objective of Samvaad is to debate and discuss various social and cultural issues that confront our society. Launched in September 2023, this platform enables faculty members, guests and research scholars to present their ideas based on their original research. These lectures and talks aim to enrich our understanding, enable us to appreciate different perspectives, and develop new ideas. Through these lecture series, we hope to promote an environment of academic and intellectual culture in the GSHSS, Visakhapatnam in particular, and the University in general.
The lectures are scheduled for every week on Wednesday, 3p.m. at Sandesh Sabha, GSHSS, Visakhapatnam. The first edition of lectures completed in November 2023 and the second edition resumes in January 2024. At the commencement of each edition, we announce the calendar of the events. We are overwhelmed with the response to the lectures so far and look forward to your active participation in the upcoming edition.
